Superfood Spotlight- Seaweed Benefits and How to Eat It

Our superfood for the month of May comes from the sea… Seaweed!

No, don’t eat the stuff you find washed up on the beach, I’ve included some delicious, and sometimes surprising ways to incorporate more seaweed into your diet.

Benefits of Seaweed

  • Highly Nutritious- Seaweed is a source of Vitamins B,C,E and D. As well as iron and iodine.

  • Helps Support Thyroid Function- Being a rich iodine source, seaweed can help support a suboptimal functioning thyroid (low).

  • Helps Regulate Blood Sugar- The high fibre content in seaweed may help regulate blood sugar, without adding a bunch of additional calories.
