Sweet Summer Smoothie
There's nothing better in these summer months than starting the day off with a cool, sweet, refreshing smoothie for breakfast. Smoothies are awesome for people who struggle to eat in the mornings, and are an amazing vehicle for all kinds of nutrients, minerals, and detoxifying ingredients.
This smoothie recipe from the lovely Joyous Health is a perfect example - the raspberries, spinach, hemp seeds, coconut water and avocado all do a ton to energize and detoxify our systems (check out Joy's post on the recipe for more info).
- 4 tbsp hemp seeds
- 2 bananas
- 1 cup frozen organic raspberries
- 1/2 ripe avocado
- 1.5 cup hemp milk (or use almond or brown rice milk)
- 1.5 cup coconut water
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 cups (loosely packed) spinach
- Some ice
Blend and enjoy! Serves two.
